31 reasons to celebrate your dog like their birthday

Why Celebrate?

Parties aren’t just for birthdays! There are lots of reasons to celebrate your dog, and certainly you don’t have to wait until your dog’s birthday to bring out your party shoes.

Whatever reason or season you're celebrating, it's nice to take a day each year (or month) to appreciate your best furry friend... and who doesn't love a party?

For dog lovers, getting an invite to a dog party is like Willy Wonka’s golden ticket. Because even if social interaction isn’t your jam, booze and snacks don’t entice you and buying presents gives you anxiety, there's likely nothing you wouldn’t do to spend an afternoon surrounded by dogs while celebrating one special pooch.

Oh, and the fun you'll have... from buying (or making) a doggy birthday cake to planning games, dog themed cocktails (for the humans) and decorations, the cliche's and bad puns will be endless.

If your dog's birthday isn't for another 9 months, who cares? Here's a list of reasons to throw a canine fiesta!

Have you thrown a party for your dog, or have any other reasons we should add to the list? Leave them in the comment section below (bonus points if you post a photo!)

7. a Doggie Quinceañera - this is the huge party that Hispanic girls who turn 15 often throw. So in dog years, this is somewhere between 2-4 years old, depending on the breed of the dog. (Larger dogs age faster than smaller breeds typically)

The most iconic thing about a quinceañera is the fancy dress that the girls wears. Look for fancy dresses for your dog, there's plenty of them out there.

8. Mardi Gras (Mutti Gras)

9. Paw nukkah
